POP! There went my blog cherry. This is my first - be gentle. Having said that, I have been following the band for as long as they have been around. When the audience is having fun, the band has fun. Its great to see everyone rocking! I love to dance around when everyone is in the groove!
Well, it takes time for the old guy to finally decide what is to be said and maybe how it needs to be said. I've played a lot of music in my many years since the ripe age of 11. Played Sax, Clarinet, Trumpet, Violin, and Keys of course. A lot of those days are well faded in the past, as well as the ability. I've been on stage with a ton of good and at times great musicians. And somehow, this old guy ound a way to keep up with the Sax and the Keys. The days in the Baltimore area were great. Gigs up the ying-yang. Almost every weekene and a lot of week nights. But that old band was good, and tight, and when it came to covering any tune, it was done and done right. Life events change things and somehow I eneded up on the Eastern Shore and in Salisbury. That did not stop the occasional jamming with some really good musicians. And in many cases, it seemed like the Eastern Shore attracted some of the best musicians I have ever played with over all of my playing time. Playing with some guys and gals was down right humbling. But we all always found pleausre with all we did. In 2003, I had the pleasure of jamming with Bad Mojo for one evening. And from that one night of jamming to date, it has been one of the best experiences of my musical life. I started playing with aboth the best guitar and bass players I have ever had the priveledge of playing with in a lot of years. An awesome drummer (who I played with in about another 3 bands)came into the scene and just a little later one awesome male vocalist. As with any group, we have a long way to go, but the distance we have come ha been awesome. Bad Mojo is one awesome party band that has the opportunity to be the Lower Delmarva band of choice of any venue. The experience and overwhelming ability of each musician in this group keeps us at a level that can only make any audience ask where we are in the next mabny weeks. Dave Zhavou has definitely found a group to complete his commitment to setting it up, performing it excellent and tearing it down evfery night, or as often as we can.
